Inline Lever/Lever

Lever Pad
A Lever Pad upvc door handle operates differently from lever-type handles that are found on the majority of doors. When selecting a replacement UPVC handle and spindle, it is important to match the PZ dimensions of the multipoint lock as well as the uPVC door. This measurement is also referred to as the handle centre or 'cylinder centres which is a crucial aspect to match the correct handles.
After you have identified the correct size of PZ it is important to make sure that the lever and push pads are shaped to fit the American with Disabilities Act compliant handles you require for your door. These are typically round or square, with an internal lever, and an external push pad.
The majority of UPVC lever pads that we sell are sprung, meaning that they will return to their horizontal position when not in use, rather than hanging out and potentially sticking in the frame. Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks can be found on uPVC and other kinds of doors. They work with a key to unlock a cylinder that then reveals pins which can be aligned to those in the lock body and permitting them to turn an revolving cam, opening the door. Euro Cylinders can be fitted with up to six pins, with internal and external doors generally requiring different levels of security.
The choice of cylinder you choose is essential. It's dependent on the amount of use your doors and handles will receive. For example, external doors should be fitted with a more secure cylinder while internal doors can be secured with an ordinary cylinder. Additionally, certain cylinders are available with extra features that can improve security even more, like anti-drill or anti-bump features.
To ensure that the euro cylinder is of the right size for your door, it should be measured accurately. The cylinder should be measured from the central screw hole to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn, should there be one. It is best to do this while the lock is in place, but if this is not possible, you may remove it to measure. A cylinder that is protruding beyond the handle and escutcheon might be susceptible to attacks like lock snapping, so it is crucial to make sure it's not too long.
The majority of modern cylinders have been constructed with anti-drill and bump resistance features included in their design. These features are designed to minimize the chances of an attack by causing the cylinder to rotate in a different direction. This helps stop the attack and ensure your doors are secure.
There are also cylinders that are made to withstand snapping. This is an increasingly common type of attack on cylinders which is where the break line of the lock is targeted with a special tool to break off the front of the cylinder and allow the door to open. This is faster and easier to achieve than gaining access through multipoint locks and leaves little evidence of a break-in, which can impede the insurance claim.
Spring Cassette
This spring cassette sits inside the base of your door handle backplate providing a sprung solution that returns your multipoint lock handles to their normal position after use. Previously a lot of handles of this kind didn't have a spring built into them and without this they are more likely to slide or drop when the locking mechanism is removed. Adding this simple component is one of the most effective ways to fix this and it is also an effective way to keep your doors made of upvc from becoming stuck in an open or closed position, as these aren't always simple to manually close by hand.
These spring cassettes were designed to be used with a sprung multipoint locks. They won't work with unsprung handles and you'll have to cut a hole into your backplate in order for them to fit. (Please look at the image for a technical diagram). They are a replacement for broken or missing cassettes within the backplates of door handles of numerous brands of uPVC doors. They have a square cut out which can accommodate an 8mm spindle, and are sold as a set.
